Phenol
This method is used for the determination of phenol in water and wastewater. The standard range for this method is 10 to 500 µg/L. However, this method is also applicable to other ranges.
Summary
Phenol is distilled from an acidic solution at 150°C. The phenol then reacts with 4-aminoantipyrine and alkaline ferricyanide to form a red complex that is measured at 505 nm.
